Pet Safety In Mind

Did you know that some commonly utilized flowers and greenery from florists and grocery stores are actually toxic to pets? For example, fresh eucalyptus is very popular, but unfortunately it is toxic to dogs and cats if consumed, according to the ASPCA.

We are obsessed with our two senior Chihuahuas. They are curious and typically right nearby as I’m working with flowers and greenery. Wanting to avoid known, highly toxic-to-pet items, I started using faux greenery and faux flowers for items like lilies. I believe it’s important to be aware of what is in your arrangements especially if you or your gift recipient have cats or dogs. We do our best to research and avoid fresh flowers and greenery that have been labeled as toxic or highly toxic by the ASPCA.

(**Important: While we avoid known toxins to the best of our ability, no amount of faux/plastic/silks or fresh floral/greenery will be healthy for your pet to consume. It’s important to do your best to keep pets and small children away from arrangements.)
